Five - 0 By Keith RidleyBook 'em, Dano! Honolulu United booked Ohana 5 - 0 on 2 goals by Ben, 2 goals by Dave and 1 goal by Mike and the defense was solid to book United's first shutout of the season. Mike crossed to Ben, who headed it in within about 20 minutes of play, and Ben crossed it to Dave several minutes later for United's 2nd header score. Ohana had come out strong from the beginning but was shut down just as strongly; and with United scoring on a couple of well played crosses, Ohana started to deflate (much like Lloyd's car tire before the match). Mike, Ben and Dave continued to pressure Ohana and after another couple of scores, more Redmen took part in the attack. Oren and Rick hustled up top and put lots of pressure on the Ohana keeper. The keeper kept the game close (if you can call 5 - 0 close) by saving several United shots with his long reach and forcing a couple of United shots to hit the post or a few others to go just wide or high. The United defense withstood several attacks by Ohana late in the game, including a Ohana freekick at about 25 yards out. Chris and Del formed a 2 man wall that Ohana thought was a 4 man wall as the freekick sailed high and wide. It was a good Redmen win but the season is still young and United could use at least a few more subs as injury, illness and travel kept several Redmen away. Next week the Redmen play Arsenal at 1 pm on field 22 (dirt). See you there. Keith
